'A Dandelion Wish'

While a dandelion is a weed, it actually symbolises hope, healing and resilience.

The symbolism behind ballet has a variety of themes, one of them being the pursuit of perfectionism. The combination of beauty and discipline.

I love having the two elements together in this image.

We can gain a sense of freedom when we work to perfect something we love.

Did you know, apparently the name dandelion derives from the French term 'dents-de-lion, which means lion's teeth. When I was little, we used to think you could tell what time it was by blowing the seeds off of a Dandelion.

Rosie created an amazing concept from this shoot where Jen was walking up the steps into the clouds and I loved it.

I have been sitting on this while I decided what I wanted to create with it which would be different to Rosie's image and our recent trip to Wales gave me the perfect idea.

We went on an adventure to find the 'secret waterfall' which was kind of exciting! The image is how I felt when we walked the path which led us to this magical hidden spot.

Giving something new a try.

I’ve had the idea for a while to mix my photography with elements of embroidery.

This is my first go at it 🧵 🪡

It was really just getting a feel for how it would work with the canvas type paper and placement, wanting to have enough but not overdo it.

Embroidery techniques will be practiced with the above next time.
